In more recent years Bozburun has seen soaring temperatures with very little rainfall during the colder seasons. The summer months see a hot and arid climate, attractive to visitors. Unseen by the travellers is an inevitable scarcity of decent water availability and quality during the summer season.

BOZBURUN MICRO-CLIMATE & ENVIRONMENT
Bozburun was originally a hilly agricultural area with strong links to working with the sea, fishing and sponge diving. The climate is hot and dry throughout most of the year and has four seasons. lifestyle adapted to this and the village has become a holiday destination.
The agricultural side of Bozburun is seen in the surrounding landscape plentiful with olive groves. Herbal teas, spices, fruit, almonds and honey are some of the locally produced products that can be sourced. Sponge diving is no longer a popular profession but everyday the fishing boats will depart and return with a plethora of fish to supply the local residents, restaurants and yachting community. Bozburun is also well renown for its skill in traditional boat building, which is demonstrated in all corners of the village. The general environment has changed over recent years to provide for the ever growing tourism industry. |
A LITTLE OF BOZBURUN HISTORY
Bozburun Peninsula owns a rich 2000 year old history, clues can be found along the coastline and hikes into the the surrounding hills, where remains of ruined buildings can be found. They point the way to understanding the change of civilisations that inhabited this area.
It is understood that there have been alternating influences over the eras of both Greek and Turkish occupation. Many cultures have left their stories in Bozburun and it is found on the famous hike 'The Carian Trail' . |

Our Jackie can be found located along the invisible and forgotten parts of the coastline. She has collected many years worth of debris that has become trapped along the crevices and bays, the difference is outstanding! She has rescued almost 350 worth of 10 litre bags of rubbish and sorted through countless micro plastics by hand. All powered by breakfast and ice cold water. Into the sunshine every day, commanding her kayak!
